7 Reasons I Started My Office Cleaning Business
December 15, 2012
A common belief is that, unless you work for someone else, you do not have real ‘income’ security. But entrepreneurs know that security occurs when they, not anyone else, are in charge of their own future. My wife and I discovered that we gained genuine security and raised our income level after we started an office cleaning business.
Why do I think starting an office cleaning business is a great idea? Here are 7 reasons why:
1. Unlimited income potential.
You can grow your office cleaning business as big as you want. Many start-up entrepreneurs have built up their office cleaning businesses up to 60-100k a year within one year. Yes, you could spend $10,000 – $50,000 for a franchise, but franchises are an unwise expense for the start-up professional cleaner. You go into debt before you even begin! Nationwide one out of every six franchises fails. Why get an SBA loan or put your home up as ‘security’ when you don’t need to?
2. Start bringing in money within a few weeks.
You can locate interested clients within a few days and can be giving quotes within a week. You can have clients under ‘contract’ within a few weeks. You can have employees and a thriving office cleaning business within a few months
3. A possible $100.00 start-up.
You can start an office cleaning business for well under $100. This business is one of the best for inexpensive start-ups. A vacuum, and some cleaning supplies are all you need!
4. Be your own boss
By being your own boss you are headed in the right direction. YOU are in charge of your own destiny. You’ll make some mistakes, of course; we all make them. But, most of your mistakes will be small ones, and you’ll learn from your mistakes. As a start-up business, you can only grow as fast as your profits allow; that’s a real incentive to ‘hustle’.
5. Set your own hours
Schedule your work so you can take days off when you want. Even as a small business, we scheduled all our work so that we always had Saturday, Sunday and Monday off – a three day weekend, every week! We learned to work smarter instead of harder because we had goals.
6. Get paid often.
After you’ve established a number of ‘accounts’, you’ll find checks in the mail (or direct deposits) on a regular basis. Soon, you’ll no longer stress out about paying your bills on time. No waiting two weeks or a month to get paid.
7. Offer additional cleaning services
You can grow your office cleaning business and start running crews – that’s when you get to stay home while others generate revenue. You can add additional cleaning services to increase your profits. Carpet cleaning, steam cleaning, house cleaning and lawn mowing are all natural extensions of a cleaning business. You can mix office cleaning with house cleaning, or window cleaning with office cleaning, etc.
Yes, Office Cleaning can be a great part-time or full-time business!
